The term "blogjects" is a word that combines the words "blog" and "objects" meaning objects that blog (Munn, n.d.). The word was coined by Julian Bleeker, a researcher from the University of Southern California, in his essay Manifesto for Networked Objects (Piquepaille, 2006). Blogjects are not only connected to the Internet, but they interact the way a human blogger can by creating posts, linking previous information, and interacting with other groups (Munn, n.d.). They can communicate where they have been and where they are. They carry with them the history of their encounters and experiences. Blogjects also directly participate in social networks on the web. (Piquepaille, 2006)
Beatriz da Costa's project "Pigeon that Blogs" is an example of a blogject. In this project sensors that were wirelessly connected to the Internet were attached to the pigeons. These sensors provided location and toxicity of the atmosphere. (Munn, n.d.)
